Point cloud of an industrial plant measured on screen: real distances taken on the existing pipes
Intervention validation

Chemical process plant

Every pipe in the plant identified on the model, and the new ones designed on top.

  • SectorChemical and petrochemical

What was done

The plant has grown through successive extensions. Knowing which line was which and where it ran meant walking the plant: the inherited documentation did not answer that.

A3D scanned the affected area, identified the existing lines on the model and designed the new ones there, checking their route against the measured installation.

The new lines were built to the layout designed on the model, and that model remains available as a base to digitise the rest of the plant.

Case study 10

The new pipes were designed on the measured area

The existing lines in the area were identified on the model, and the new layout was built on site as designed.

What was happening

A chemical process plant grown through successive extensions had to route a new pipe run. Knowing which line was which and where it ran meant walking the plant: the inherited documentation did not answer that.

What we did

A3D scanned the affected area, identified the existing lines on the model and designed the new ones there, checking their route against the measured installation.

What changed

The new lines were built to the layout designed on the model, and that model remains available as a base to digitise the rest of the plant.

Does your plant look like this one?

Each project started with a measured area: a bounded scan, a model of the real condition and a decision based on data. If you have an intervention ahead, it is bounded, measured and validated.
