Agri-food process manufacturer
Replacement of two silos on the existing concrete base, with production running.

What was done
The new silos had to sit on the concrete ring of the old ones. The as-built drawings of that base were unreliable and the plant could not stop production to check it by hand.
A3D laser scanned the real condition of the base and built its as-built BIM model. The new silo was inserted into that model, as it came from the factory, to check the fit piece by piece.
The check uncovered a deviation that the available drawings did not record, weeks before the crane reached the site and with the silo still in fabrication: it was corrected on the drawings and not on the ground.
The deviation was corrected with the silo still at the factory
“We checked that the new silo fitted the concrete base we already had before moving a crane, with production running.”
What was happening
An agri-food process manufacturer had to replace two large silos on the concrete ring of the old ones, with production running and unreliable as-built drawings of the base.
What we did
A3D laser-scanned the real condition, built the as-built BIM model of the base and inserted the new silo into the model to check the fit before a crane moved.
What changed
The model uncovered a deviation that the available drawings did not record, weeks before the crane reached the site: it was corrected on the drawings, with the silo still in the factory.

Does your plant look like this one?
Each project started with a measured area: a bounded scan, a model of the real condition and a decision based on data. If you have an intervention ahead, it is bounded, measured and validated.
