What was done
Extending an area with crowded reactors and pipes is a leap in the dark until a reliable model exists: equipment that does not fit, lines that have to be rerouted and walls that come down mid-works.
A3D scanned almost the whole plant in 3D and modelled the critical area in BIM component by component, drawing on its own library of parametric reactors and valves.
The client now validates extensions to the critical area on the model: what fits, what moves and which pipe is affected. The twin covers almost the whole plant, with different levels of detail.
What fits and what moves is decided in 3D
The documentation of the critical area lives in an as-built model, from the reactor to the valve, and extensions are checked there before they are carried out.
What was happening
Extending an area with crowded reactors and pipework is a leap in the dark without a reliable model: equipment that does not fit, lines to reroute and walls that have to come down in the middle of the works.
What we did
A3D scanned the whole plant in 3D and modelled the critical area in BIM, component by component, with its own library of parametric reactors and valves.
What changed
The client now validates every extension in 3D before touching the plant: what fits, what moves and which pipe is affected, with the model as the single reference.
Does your plant look like this one?
Each project started with a measured area: a bounded scan, a model of the real condition and a decision based on data. If you have an intervention ahead, it is bounded, measured and validated.
