Wastewater treatment plant (WWTP)
Laser scanning and BIM model of the real condition of a wastewater plant, with the equipment coded to talk to the plant’s databases.
- Floor area6,700 m²
- ServiceBIM digital twin
- SectorWater treatment
What was done
The plant was digitised as part of the operator’s asset digitisation strategy: documenting the real condition of the plant so that it can be managed from an up-to-date model.
A3D laser-scanned the facility and built the BIM model on the point cloud. The schematic diagrams, the plant documentation and first-hand accounts from the people who operate it were added to the model.
Every element came out coded and parameterised, ready to link to the CMMS and to the facility’s databases. That is the step that turns a model of the current state into the basis of a digital twin useful for operation and maintenance.

Does your plant look like this one?
Each project started with a measured area: a bounded scan, a model of the real condition and a decision based on data. If you have an intervention ahead, it is bounded, measured and validated.
