Industry is increasingly digitalised and this means generating an updated digital twin of industrial plants is paramount in order to make the right operational decisions.

A3D has developed a reverse engineering process that consists of the digital reconstruction of industrial assets.

Our methodology makes it possible to identify the critical points and draw up an action plan to support the customer in digital control of their plant.


Data capture

We use laser equipment to get a point cloud with millimetric precision which is the basis for developing the BIM model.

Generating a digital BIM model

We interpret existing documents (drawings, P&IDs), compare them with the point cloud and generate the BIM model.

Linking to maintenance programmes

We detect the input bridges between the CMMS programmes and the BIM model and set up a matrix of connection codes between the two systems.


Finally, we develop BIM specifications, templates and processes and standardise them to secure the continuity of the investment.
