Oxxeo Building in Madrid
Facilities and systems BIM modeling
The Oxxeo Building in Madrid is a highly innovative work designed by the prestigious architectural firm Rafael de La-Hoz Arquitectos. A triangular-shaped construction that takes the load-bearing structure from the slabs to the outside, forming a large structural lattice. Inside, a single central core encompasses vertical communication spaces, toilets, and utility rooms.
Through the engineering firm JG Ingenieros, we were commissioned to carry out the BIM modeling of the facilities. These run inside the large metal beams that connect the central core to the external structure. A unique solution that posed a real challenge.
The complexity of the Oxxeo building‘s facilities made it almost impossible to carry out without a BIM project. This methodology allowed for perfect coordination of all the elements that passed through the interior of the beams: air conditioning, trays, electricity, fire protection, etc. All in a very limited space.
Once completed, the Oxxeo building has obtained the LEED Platinum Core & Shell certification, the highest distinction awarded by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), and the five-star DIGA accessibility certification (Indicator Badge of the Degree of Accessibility), from the Shangri-La Foundation.
